Synthesis and characterization of phosphorescent platinum and iridium complexes with cyclometalated corannulene.
Synthesis, structural and characterization data are provided for Pt(II) and Ir(III) complexes cyclometalated with 2-(corannulene)pyridine (corpy), (corpy)Pt(dpm) and (corpy)Ir(ppz)2 (dpm = dipivaloylmethanato, ppz = 1-phenylpyrazolyl). A third compound, (phenpy)Ir(ppz)2 (phenpy = 2-(5-phenanthryl)pyridyl), was also prepared to mimic the steric bulk of (corpy)Ir(ppz)2. X-ray analysis reveals bow...
متن کاملPutting corannulene in its place. Reactivity studies comparing corannulene with other aromatic hydrocarbons.
A series of aromatic hydrocarbons were investigated so as to compare the reactivity of corannulene with planar aromatic hydrocarbons. Corannulene was found to be more reactive than benzene, naphthalene and triphenylene to Friedel-Crafts acylation whilst electrophilic aromatic bromination was also used to confirm that triphenylene was less reactive than corannulene and that pyrene, perylene and ...
متن کاملTemperature Dependent ESR Studies on
Frozen samples of aqueous solutions of oxidized Pt 6-methyl-uracil "blue" were studied bv ESR spectroscopy at temperatures T ranging between —196 °C and —10 °C. When T was raised a distinct change in the line pattern was observed at about —35 °C. The resulting type of spectrum is very similar to the ESR spectrum of MAGNUS' Green Salt. The observed effect is suggested to be due to a change of th...
متن کاملESR and Magnetization Studies of Bi-manganites
The electron spin resonance (ESR) and magnetization (M) studies of Bi-manganites were undertaken to understand the coexistence of various magnetic phases and their effect on charge ordering as a function of composition and temperature. The studies on several compositions of Bi-manganites reveal that the electronic phase separation (PS) is an in‐ trinsic phenomenon in this system.
